How is Sound Recorded?

Picture
Sound is recorded by using the microphone. Thomas Edison invented the microphone, and at the time it was only a cylinder wrapped in tin foil. Emile Berliner, a German inventor, created a way where the sound could be transferred onto a disk instead of a cylinder. This triggered the start of compact discs. But before CD's were invented, there was the tape recorder. When they were first out on the market, they were just used for recording industries, and were very seldom found in homes. Then, in the mid-1950's, tape recorders were used in many, many houses across the country.
